Scenic Circular Motorcycle Tour through Central and Western Slovenia

This picturesque circular motorcycle tour takes you through the diverse landscapes of central and western Slovenia, across stunning Alpine passes, past emerald rivers, and through numerous historic towns. It offers an ideal combination of dynamic riding, breathtaking views, and relaxing stops for local cuisine and sightseeing.

We begin the tour at Hotel Grof and head through the Tuhinj Valley toward Kamnik, one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Slovenia. The route continues to Kranj, where the charming old town offers a view over the Kokra River canyon. From there, we ride past Lesce toward Kranjska Gora, where the Julian Alps and Lake Jasna open up in front of us—an excellent spot for a short break. We then cross the border into Italy and ascend the Cave del Predil mountain pass, where the landscape changes dramatically. This is one of the most scenic stages of the tour, with historical significance due to the nearby remnants of an old mine and military fortifications. After returning to Slovenia, we descend into Bovec, the heart of the Soča Valley—perfect for a rest, lunch, or a quick trip to the nearby Boka waterfall.

The journey continues through Žaga to Kobarid, known for its WWI museum and the picturesque Kozjak waterfall. We proceed to Tolmin, where you can stroll along the confluence of the Soča and Tolminka rivers or visit the Tolmin Gorges. The route then takes us along less-traveled but very winding roads through Železniki and on to the picturesque town of Škofja Loka, one of the oldest towns in Slovenia. The final leg of the tour winds through Krtina, Blagovica, and Trojane—where a stop for the famous donuts is a must. We complete the tour back at Hotel Grof, filled with unforgettable memories of this motorcycling adventure.
