
MC15 - Kozje

This scenic circular route takes you through the central and southern regions of Slovenia, weaving through charming towns, picturesque landscapes, and historic sites. The route offers a mix of urban highlights, tranquil rural roads, and fascinating cultural stops, making it an excellent ride for exploration and relaxation.
Starting from Hotel Grof, you head towards Žalec, home to the famous Green Gold Beer Fountain, where you can sample local craft beers. From there, continue to Celje, Slovenia's third-largest city, where you can visit the medieval Celje Castle and enjoy the vibrant town center. The journey then takes you south to Šentjur, a peaceful town surrounded by hills, and Kozje, a small village known for its natural beauty and quiet atmosphere. From Bistrica ob Sotli, the route heads towards Virštanj and the lovely town of Planina pri Sevnici, famous for its nearby Sevnica Castle and scenic views.
Next, you’ll pass through Litija, a historical town with a charming old center, and continue to Zagorje ob Savi and Trbovlje, which are both known for their industrial heritage and surrounding mountains. The final leg of the journey takes you through Prebold before heading back to Hotel Grof where you can indulge in a fantastic meal in guesthouse Grof.

- Focus on safe driving in curves, especially in areas where the roads are narrower, such as around Kozje, Trbovlje, Bistrica ob Sotli, and Virštanj.
- In the area of Planina pri Sevnici, be aware of the possible presence of agricultural vehicles and local traffic, as this is a rural area.
- In the area of Prebold and Zagorje ob Savi, expect regional traffic with a higher number of vehicles, especially during weekends.
