MC06 - Koroška
This motorcycle tour takes you through central and northeastern Slovenia, where picturesque valleys, mountain passes, and scenic towns intertwine. The route offers both peaceful, wide roads and winding mountain paths, making it the perfect choice for motorcyclists seeking a dynamic ride and the beauty of the Slovenian landscape.
The tour begins at Hotel Grof, from where we head toward Braslovče and continue to Letuš, then on to Šmartno ob Paki, a historic settlement along the Paka River. The ride proceeds through Skorno and Šoštanj, where the mountainous part of the tour begins with an ascent to Slemen, offering stunning views of the surroundings. The route then leads through Črna na Koroškem, where we admire the alpine landscape, and continues toward Mežica.
Next, we head towards Loibach and Bleiburg, crossing the border into Austria. The landscape changes here but remains equally beautiful. The ride through Lavamünd and Dravograd offers numerous breathtaking mountain views before we return to Slovenia. In Slovenj Gradec, we can take a break to explore this culturally rich town before continuing toward Mislinja and Vitanje, where we can enjoy views of vineyards and rolling hills. The route then leads us to Socka, from where we descend towards Vojnik and reach Šmartinsko Lake, an ideal spot to enjoy some peaceful moments by the water.
Afterward, we ride to Celje, the capital of the Savinja region, where we can stop and explore the historic old town. The final stop is Žalec, known for its brewing museum, before we return to our starting point at Hotel Grof.

Tips for the tour:
- Pay attention to narrow roads and curves in the mountainous sections, especially in Mežica and Loibach.
- Stop in Celje to explore the historic old town.
- Check the weather forecast, as mountain weather can change rapidly.
- Be mindful of traffic changes when riding through Bleiburg and Lavamünd.
